29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.

What it is east Jerusalem as far as nations and countries? If we look on a current map of today’s world, east of Jerusalem will include nations such as: Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, China, India, and many other Asian countries.

All the Children of the East Country

In Solomon’s day, some of the wisest men of the world came from empires that had established for a long time. Empires such as those in India and China and the early Mesopotamians, which would have been in modern-day Iraq.

Why is this important or what does this really mean? Well it says that God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding that exceeded all men around the world. God also gave Solomon largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the seashore.

Lastly, Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the East country and all the wisdom of Egypt. The East country would have been some of the nations we spoke of earlier the ancient Chinese civilizations, the ancient Indian civilizations in the ancient Mesopotamian or Sumer nations, and even the mighty Egyptian civilizations.

Unfortunately, all that went down the drain when Israel rebelled against the God of the universe who gave them all of their wisdom. Solomon’s descendants began to transgress, and as God promised, He sent them into captivity.

This is a testament to Solomon, his people, and his kingdom civilization, however it is also a testament to God of Israel that God will give freely as well as freely take away from those who transgressed and rebel against His Word.
