Chapter Summary: Numbers Chapter 34 Summary

Numbers chapter 34 summary is a short chapter regarding Israel’s borders. God reminded Moses to command the children of Israel the land they are coming into is an inheritance from God.

In particular, the land was God’s promise to Abraham, a gift to Abraham’s descendants that they would inherit the land of Canaan. This chapter details the borders of their land. The south went as far as to the wilderness of Zin, which was near the coast of Edom.

Numbers Chapter 34 Summary

The western, even southwestern border included the Azmon to the river of Egypt, curving around to the great sea, thought to be the Mediterranean Sea. The north border went from the great sea pointing out mount Hor to the entrance of Hamath.

The eastside was from Hazarenan to Shepham and went down to the Jordan. It was a pretty vast amount of land the Lord gave to the Israelites. It’s a lot more than we typically see in Biblical maps and of the land of Israel today.

Finally, the chapter ends as God divided the land by tribe. The tribe leader to divided the land among the people. The Lord began with Judah, and Caleb was their leader. This is the summary of Numbers chapter 34!
