Chapter Summaries: Genesis Chapter 43 Summary

Welcome back to the story of Joseph and his brothers in Genesis. This is Genesis chapter 43 summary where the sons of Jacob (Israel) were arguing with their dad to let Benjamin go back with them so they could buy corn.

Israel hesitated to send Benjamin with his brothers, out of fear of losing both Benjamin and Joseph. Remember, the two of them came from his wife Rachel, who also had passed away. To lose Benjamin would be the end of that set.

Genesis Chapter 43 Summary

However, he eventually acquiesced. The sons of Israel go back to Egypt with double the money for corn and they prayed to God for mercy before Joseph. Once again, they returned and made obeisance to Joseph. Joseph gave them gifts and gave five times as much to Benjamin than the rest of the brothers.

The sons of Israel were shocked at how much the ruler of Egypt, Joseph, knew about them. This is the summary of Genesis chapter 43!
