They Shall Rule Over Their Oppressors, Isaiah 14 reframed, by BibleStudyMinistry.com. In the previous chapter, we read about the fall of Babylon. When Babylon topples over, it is over.
The Kingdom of the Sovereign LORD and His Christ will appropriate itself in the earth. With that comes a few changes. One being events mentioned in this chapter, Isaiah 14.
Hear the word of the Sovereign LORD of Hosts. The Sovereign LORD will have mercy and compassion on Jacob and choose Israel once again. He will settle them in their own land. The foreigner will join them and they all will be united with the house of Jacob.
He That Leads into Captivity Shall Go…
The nations will escort the children of Israel, bringing them to their homeland; then the house of Israel will possess the nations as menservants and maidservants in the Sovereign LORD’s land.
They will make captives of their once captors, they shall rule over their oppressors. On the day the Sovereign LORD gives you rest from your pain and torment, as well as from the hard labor that you were forced to work, you will sing.
You will sing this song of contempt against the king of Babylon; How the oppressor has ceased, and how his fury has ended! The ALMIGHTY LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers is demolished.
The Wicked Will Die
It struck the peoples in anger with unceasing blows; it has subdued the nations in rage with relentless persecution. All the earth is at peace and rest; the faithful break out into singing.
Even the cypresses and cedars of Lebanon exult over you, the oppressor; “Since you have been laid low, no woodcutter comes against us,” they sing with joy. “Hell beneath is eager to meet you upon your arrival.
It stirs the spirits of the dead to greet you all, all you wicked rulers of the earth. It makes all the kings of the nations rise from their thrones.” They will all respond and say to you, “You too have become weak as we were; you have become like us!”
How Have You Fallen, O Lucifer
Your pomp has been brought down to Hell in the underworld, with the music and sounds of your harps. Maggots spread out beneath you, and worms cover you. How have you fallen from heaven, O Morning Star Lucifer?
How have you been cut down to the ground, O destroyer of nations? You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of Elohim. I will sit on the mount of the assembly, in the far reaches of the north.
That wasn’t enough, “I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most-High.” Nevertheless, you will be brought down to Hell to the far extents of the Pits of it. Those who see you will stare, they will consider and ponder your fate.
No Honor in Luci’s Demise
They will say, “Is this the man who shook the earth and made kingdoms tremble? Is he the one who turned the world into a wilderness? Him, he is the one who destroyed its cities; is he the one who refused to let the captives return to their homes?”
All the kings of the nations lie in state and honor, each in his own tomb. But you are cast out of your grave like a rejected branch, covered by those slain with the sword, and dumped into a rocky pit like a carcass trampled underfoot.
You will not join them in burial, since you have destroyed your land and slaughtered your own people. The offspring of the wicked will never again be mentioned. Prepare a place of slaughter for his sons for the iniquity of their fathers.
Be Swept Away Like a Broom
They will never rise up to possess land or cover the earth with their cities. “I will rise up against them,” declares the Sovereign LORD of Hosts. “Yes, I will cut off from Babylon her name and her remnant, her offspring and her posterity,” declares the Sovereign LORD.
“I will make her a place for owls and swamplands, and I will sweep her away with the broom of destruction,” declares the Sovereign LORD of Hosts. The Most-High LORD of Hosts has sworn, “As I have planned, so will it be; as I have purposed so will it stand.
I will break Assyria in My land; I will trample him on My mountain. His yoke will be taken off My people, and his burden removed from their shoulders.” This is the plan devised for the whole earth and this is the hand stretched out over all the nations.
Philistines Will Melt Away
The Sovereign LORD of Hosts has purposed it, who can frustrate Him? His hand is outstretched, so who can turn it back? In the year that King Ahaz died, this oracle came to me. Do not rejoice, all you of Philistine, that the rod that struck you is broken.
Because a viper will spring from the serpent’s root and a flying serpent from its egg. Then the firstborn of the poor will find pasture, and the needy will lie down in safety, but I will kill your root by famine, and your remnant will be slain.
Wail, O gate! Cry out, O city! Melt away all you Philistines! A cloud of smoke comes from the north, and there are no stragglers in its ranks. What answer will be given to the envoys of that nation?

“The Sovereign LORD has founded Zion, where His afflicted people will find refuge.” This is the burden and oracle of Babylon, thus says the Sovereign LORD.
Chapter Remarks
This is a serious chapter, Isaiah 14; it is the oracle Isaiah received in the year King Ahaz of Judah died. As mentioned in the beginning, this chapter correlates with the previous chapter. Isaiah 13 gave us the fall of Babylon as the oracle.
Chapter 14 of Isaiah continues the oracle for Babylon. First things first, the ALMIGHTY will have mercy on Jacob and choose them as the leaders of the real free world. He will do this based on the covenant made with their forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Israel.
The Sovereign LORD will place them in their own land and that is not the tiny strip in Jerusalem, my friends. It is all over the earth where land was given to them. In addition, foreigners will join them and unite with the house of Jacob.
Babylon is a Three-Headed Oppressor
There are many foreign nations who love Christ, love His people, and have had it up to their ceiling with the oppressive rule their own people administer. They want out of the current regime as does the house of Israel.
At the fall of Babylon, which is chiefly the United States, Russia, and the European Union; when they fall a toppling of events will happen. The United States will fall, then the EU will finish her and a possible war with Russia and China will look to begin.
Then the invasion from the sky will stop them and cause them to unite in a war against Christ. Once the militaries of the world governments are whipped out, the world will sing a new tune.
Psalm 83 Nations (10 Nations)
What I mentioned from “At the fall of Babylon,” to the militaries of the world governments being wiped out is told to us in Revelation 13 (Revelation 17 & 18). Back to Isaiah 14, but not the beginning of the chapter.
Let’s start at the end where Palestina (Philistine) was warned not to rejoice because they like the world witnessed the fall of the Babylonian kingdom. They also have a serious debt to pay also; some peoples forget their name is written in Psalm 83 (verse 7) as enemies of the ALMIGHTY.
The firstborn of the poor will feed on them and find pasture. The poor are the Sovereign LORD’s people, the children of Israel as stated in Isaiah’s third chapter and 15th verse (and Isaiah 10:2).
Philistine Uprooted
Therefore, the firstborn of the poor will finally live off their land, the firstborn is the house of Joseph. The remainder of the Philistines will be uprooted by famine and killed by the very people they oppressed.
Just as Babylon was told to howl and cry in chapter 13, Philistine was told the same as she comes to her appointed times. The military dissolving her is one that is straight-up hardcore; no stragglers in this rank. Everyone is like the house of David.
All nations will have envoys who return to their governments with a simple message; the Sovereign LORD of Hosts is back in His Hill in Zion and He is demanding the poor of His people; NOW!
Events of the Oppressors Demise
We can now go back to the beginning of the chapter for the consistency and storyline flow of the events. Verse two, the people will take the remaining children of Israel and bring them to their place.
It is mentioned in other chapters and other prophets, there is a wilderness teaching for some years but once all that is straightened out, the house of Israel will possess their captors in the land of the Sovereign LORD.
Their once captors will be servants and handmaids and their oppressors will no longer rule over them. The whole earth will be happy and singing, like a great big party because the oppressors’ rule is over.
How?
The trees will be happy, the animals and all of nature will be ecstatic. Except for the oppressor who was brought down to the ground, covered in worms. The chapter then asks the ringleader of the destruction of the earth, Lucifer, how has he been cut to the ground.
He weakened the nation with lies and vanities; Lucifer proclaimed that he will ascend into heaven and exalt his throne above the stars of Elohim. He believed this was a better plan for man.
Although he made all these claims, he was denounced and determined to be brought down to the pits of hell. The nations will come and look upon him and consider it was he who did all of this destruction. He destroyed cities and refused to let captives return to their lands.
Paying the Price for the Sins of Their fathers
For this, the ALMIGHTY will allow the other nations’ greedy leaders to die and be buried, but the king of Babylon will not be buried. He will lay on top of stones and his dead body will be trodden under feet. His children will pay for the iniquity of their fathers by slaughter.
This is why this is not just a warning to the children of Israel who do not awake from the tyranny of lies spread out over the years by the nations, but to all the nations and all people. The leaders of the nations are preparing slaughter while the Sovereign LORD will allow it for those who do not acknowledge Him.
Then the Sovereign LORD will arise and cut off from Babylon the name and remnant of the children of Lucifer, and all the nations who have made a league with them. This chapter was troubling to reframe and share because of the destruction.
Repent for the Kingdom of Elohim is at Hand
This is not a game; in fact, it is seriously saddening and sobering. ALMIGHTY, have mercy on those who fear your great and terrible name!
