Raise a banner on a barren hilltop; call out loud to them below. Wave your hand to get their attention so they may enter the gates of the nobles. I have commanded My sanctified ones; I have even summoned My warriors to execute My wrath and exult in My triumph.
Listen, a roaring crowd on the mountains, like that of a great multitude is heard. Listen, an uproar among the kingdoms, like nations gathered together! The LORD of Hosts musters an army together for war.
Look in Astonishment
They are coming from far away, from lands afar from the ends of the heavens and the Sovereign LORD and the weapons of His wrath to destroy the whole land. You better howl and wail because the Day of the Sovereign LORD is near; it will come as destruction from the ALMIGHTY.
Thus all hands will fall limp and every man’s heart will melt. Terror, pain, and anguish will seize them all; they will be in pain as a woman in labor. They will look in astonishment at one another, their faces lit up like flames with fear.
See, the Day of the Sovereign LORD is coming and it is cruel, it is furious, and is with burning anger to make the earth a desolation. This Day will destroy the sinners off the land. The stars of heaven and their constellations will not give their light.
A Massive Shaking of the Heavens
The sun will be darkened when it rises, and the moon, the moon will not give its light either. I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity. Yes, I will end the haughtiness of the arrogant and humiliate the pride of tyrants.
I will make men scarcer than pure gold, and man altogether rarer than the gold of Ophir. Therefore, I will shake the heavens, I will make them tremble, and the earth will be shaken also from its place at the wrath of the Sovereign LORD of Hosts on the day of His burning fierce anger.
Just like a hunted gazelle and like a sheep without a shepherd, each man will return to his own people. Every one of them will flee to his own native land. Whoever is caught will be stabbed and thrust through; whoever is captured will die by the sword.
Medes Will Have No Mercy
Their infants will be dashed to pieces before their eyes, their houses will be looted, and their wives and daughters will be ravished and violated. Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them who have no regard for silver and no desire for gold.
The Medes bows will dash young men to pieces; they will have absolutely no mercy on the fruit of the womb; they will not look with pity on children.
Babylon, the jewel of the kingdoms, the glory of the pride of the Chaldeans, will be overthrown by the Great Elohim Most-High just like Sodom and Gomorrah were in the days of Abraham.
Hyenas and Jackals in the Houses
Yes, Babylon will never be inhabited or settled from generation to generation; no Arabian will pitch a tent there, no shepherd will rest his flock there. Only desert creatures will lie down there, and howling creatures will fill the remaining houses.
The owls will dwell there and wild goats will leap about; hyenas will howl in her fortresses and jackals in her luxurious palaces. Babylon’s time is at hand and her days will not be prolonged.
This is the burden and oracle concerning Babylon the great that Isaiah did see, praise ye the Sovereign LORD.
Chapter Feedback
Isaiah’s chapter 13 is tricky and we’ll explain how in this chapter’s feedback. The burden of Babylon is a foretelling of the fall of Babylon. Remember, Isaiah, the son of Amoz, prophesied during the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
Those kings came and went, here came Josiah, Jehoiakim, Jehoiachin, and Zedekiah. Zedekiah was the last king of Judah and was taken captive to Babylon by their king, Nebuchadnezzar.
Still with us? Good. A good prophet named Daniel was taken in the captivity and siege of Babylon and ended up being a chief steward in the house of Nebuchadnezzar. The king of Babylon dies and his son Belshazzar is ruling a fractured kingdom and had a nice party.
Two Different Babylons in History
In the party, he disrespected the ALMIGHTY and the LORD ALMIGHTY scared him to shaking and then had Darius the Median (a Mede) come in and take the kingdom from Babylon. That was the end of the Babylonian rule taken over by the Medes.
There goes Isaiah’s prophecy fulfilled, right? Not really! Why? The story in Daniel chapter 5 shows us a plot to kill the king of Babylon by Darius the Mede. Darius came alone, meaning, his nation only, and they overtook Babylon.
That is not what Isaiah described in chapter 13! Isaiah saw a high banner lifted up, the noise of a multitude were on the mountains and the noise of the kingdoms of the nations gathered together.
Revelation 18 and Isaiah 13 Same Babylon
This is why this chapter is tricky because some scholars will dismiss this as if it already happened. As terrifying as this chapter is we could only wish this already happened so we do not have to brace for it in the future.
The truth is, we do have to brace for it because this Babylon is the same one mentioned in Revelation chapter 18 that falls mightily. Now that we have that concluded, back to the freakishly terrifying chapter.
The Sovereign LORD ALMIGHTY sent a host of kingdoms and armies against Babylon; all of them ready to exercise the fierce anger of the LORD. This time will be fierce and brutal; people’s hearts will melt, hands will be faint, they will look in amazement with one another.
Pride, Arrogance, and Transgressors Destroyed
It is going to be an altogether different time period the world has ever seen. It is written that it will be cruel and wrathful with the designs of destroying sinners out of it. In addition to sinners, which are those that transgress the law of Elohim, the Most-High will also punish the world for their evil, wickedness, arrogancy, pride, and haughtiness.
We don’t have to worry about population control, the ALMIGHTY will do this single-handled when He makes a man more precious or scarcer than fine gold. This will be the time where the sixth seal will have been opened as the stars, sun, and moon will not give their light.
The book of Revelation says there will be an earthquake-like never before that separates the city into three parts (Revelation 16:19). Isaiah 13 verse 13 says the LORD ALMIGHTY will shake the heavens and earth and remove lands out of their normal places.
Babylon is Fallen
This will be the earthquake of all earthquakes. The United States may very well wake up next-door neighbors to Nigeria after this earthquake. Needless to say, this will invite a host of nations, led by the Medes to put the finishing touches on Babylon, which is the United States of America.
One thing is for sure, the USA or parts of it for that matter will lay desolate with wild animals living in the White House and other palaces in the district of Columbia and other states.
This is Babylon’s burden the prophet saw and told; it is written for us to pay attention and prepare our hearts, body, and souls for. The Sovereign LORD plans on destroying sinners out of the land. A sinner is someone who transgresses the law (1 John 3:4).
Watch and Pray
The law of the Most-High Elohim is to love Him with all your heart mind and soul and to love your neighbor as you love yourself. We would do good to read about what the Sovereign LORD loves so we can properly love Him with our full might.
We also should read the books to learn how we should properly love our fellow brothers and sisters. Showing love may not be a cookie-cutter as we have been led to believe.
Watch and pray, believe so you may stand firm, ultimately, REPENT for the Kingdom of Elohim, Most-High is at hand. Prepare your spirit now!
