What Could Have Been Done More to My Vineyard: I will sing to my well-beloved a song of His vineyard. Want to hear it? Here it goes; My beloved had a vineyard on a very fertile hill. He dug it up, fenced it, and cleared the stones, and planted the finest vines.

The Husbandman built a watchtower in the middle and dug out a winepress as well. He waited for the vineyard to yield up good grapes, but instead, the fruits it produced were sour wild grapes. So now, you inhabitants of Jerusalem and you men of Judah, I beg you, judge between Me and My vineyard.

What more could I have done for My vineyard that I did not do already? Why is it that when I waited for the good grapes did it bring forth wild grapes? Now I will reveal to you what I am about to do to My vineyard; I will take away its hedges and it will be consumed.

The Pleasant Plant are the Men of Judah

I will tear it down also and it will be trampled upon. I will make it a wasteland nether to be pruned or cultivated. In place of fruit, thorns and briers will grow up. I will command the clouds should not rain upon the vineyard.

Because the vineyard of the LORD ALMIGHTY of Hosts is the house of Israel; the men of Judah are the plant of His delight, they are His pleasant plant. However, He looked for justice and saw injustice; He sought for righteousness but heard a cry of distress.

Woe to those who add house to house and field to field until there is no place. Then they will be placed in the middle of the earth. I heard the LORD of Host declare, “Of a truth, many houses will become desolate, great mansions will be left unoccupied.

My People Will Go into Captivity

Ten acres of a vineyard will yield but a small tub of wine and a homer of seed will only produce a grain. Woe to them that rise up early in the morning to go after strong drink and continue at it into the evening till they are inflamed by wine.

At their feasts, they play the lyre, harp, tambourines, flutes, and drink wine. Yet, they disregard the actions of the LORD ALMIGHTY, nor do they consider the work of His hands. Therefore My people will go into exile, into captivity for their lack of understanding and knowledge.

Their honorable men and dignitaries are famished; their masses are dried with thirst. Hell will enlarge itself upon them and open up her mouth wide without measure. Down goes Zion’s nobles and their multitudes, their pomp, and their jubilant.

Humbling

The mean man will be brought down as well as the mighty man, they both will be humbled. The eyes of the arrogant and lofty will be humbled.” Thus says the LORD ALMIGHTY.

Chapter Remarks

Social injustice must stop. The LORD ALMIGHTY’s desire is for man to treat his fellow brother as he would like to be treated himself. Love the LORD your Elohim with all your might. How is this done best?

The best way to do this is to love your brother, your neighbor as you love yourself. Speaking of love, this chapter started out with the song sung to His well-beloved. The song featured all the good the LORD did for His vineyard; He even had to ask what more could He have done to make things right for His vineyard.

Nothing seemed to work, so the MOST-HIGH unraveled everything and allowed whatever to happen to the vineyard. This was a parable and the vineyard of the LORD of Hosts is the house of Israel (Samaria-the ten tribes).

Think About All the Parables of the Vineyard

The pleasant planting of the vineyard is the men of Judah. Because of their lack of understanding, the vineyard will be trampled, marred, and crushed. This equals captivity and the sword.

Also, keep the word vineyard in mind when reading the parables of the vineyard in the New Testament given by Jesus (Yashaya) the Christ. The vineyard’s leaders are famished and the people are dried of thirst.

This is the description of the first half of the book of Isaiah chapter 5; glory to the ALMIGHTY.
