In Exodus chapter 17, the people of Israel asked this question to Moses and Aaron because they had gone a day or two without having water to drink.
I understand all to well how one can complain or at least get annoyed at the lack of water to drink or food to eat.
The snickers commercials show what type of beast people can turn into when they lack food or drink for any elongated span of time.
Is the Lord Among Us, or Not? Know That He Is!
Moses saw their murmuring to him, and how they thought it better to remain in the bondage in Egypt than to be free but thirsty and hungry in the wilderness. This is when they tempted the Lord and questioned if God was really with them or not.
Exodus 17
7 And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the Lord, saying, Is the Lord among us, or not?
Is the Lord among us, or not? You even may ask yourself this question at times or moments in your life. And I’m going to pull a preacher or motivational speakers move here…
God is always with you.
If things seem like they are really bad, just do what Rebekah did when Jacob and Esau struggled in her womb, insomuch he became concerned.
Genesis 25
22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the Lord.
She went and enquired of the Lord what was happening. She didn’t complain and murmur against God and then question if He was still with her.
Is the Lord Among Us, or Not? (Not a Good Question)
When Daniel was reading the book of Jeremiah, he became confused, thinking a prophecy was already accomplished, he didn’t complain or murmur at the lack of his understanding, he instead went to the Lord.
Daniel 9
3 And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:
Daniel set his face to the Lord God, and sought God by prayer, supplications, and fasting, humbly to receive word of what to do. This is what the children of Israel needed to do in the wilderness.
KNOW that GOD is with you, and if things do not go according to plan, STEP BACK and seek the Lord your God with prayer and with supplications.
Is the Lord Among Us, or Not?
Jesus said, ask and ye shall receive. In all reality, all the children of Israel had to do was ask Moses or ask God to provide water for them and their family. The prayer of the faithful will be answered.
Is the Lord among us, or not, is not a question for the faithful, it is a question for the unbelieving. Stay faithful, and Praise God in Jesus name.
