Revelation 13 Chapter Study

1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

This is the same way the dragon was depicted in Revelation the twelve chapter (Revelation 12); with seven heads, ten horns, and ten crowns upon his horns. This means or symbolizes the dragon is in control of the beast rising out of the sea (of people).

2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

One World Ruling System

Remember, Daniel chapter 7:1-7, the animal’s Daniel was told that represented the Gentile nations to rule the earth. This beast rises out of the sea in the full attire of those Gentile nations.

Thus the beast that rises out of the sea (of people); is the rebuilt Gentile government under a one-world ruling system or government. Today we could view this like the European Union because the EU is a compilation of Gentile nations.

3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

Wonder and Admire After the Beast

People of the world worship and wonder after how great this political, economic, and social system is put together. A bundle of nations all dealing with each other under one head of state is what this has become. And the people of the world admire and wonder after it.

5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

Power was given to the mouthpiece or spiritual leader of the beast to rule for 42 months. Another way of saying 42 months is 3.5 years. This is why BibleStudyMinistry.com advocates strongly that the great tribulation is 3.5 years, not 7.

6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.

Revelation 13 Chapter Study

If your name is not written in the book of life of Jesus Christ you will find yourself worshiping the great beast. This is why there is a warning to put on your spiritual ears and hear.

10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

Another beast was seen coming out of the earth; it had two horns like a lamb. This means they appeared and spoke peacefully, but the actions and words were those of the dragon (Satan). These are the modern European powers, but mainly the United States of America.

12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

Gentile Dynasty

This is the official false prophet but really it is the false nation. It is called the false prophet because this nation, the USA, houses two abominable religious institutions. The world likes to call the false prophet the anti-Christ; this is the abomination of desolation warned of us by Jesus (Matthew 24 v15). It was also spoken of to us by Daniel the prophet (Daniel 11).

If you do not worship this image, you will be killed if you are not under the hedge of Jesus Christ, His Majesty. This ending is how the Gentile dynasty began under the rule of King Nebuchadnezzar. Think about it; he made an image and forced everyone to worship the image or die.

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

the Great Tribulation

In order to eat, buy or sell during the time of the great tribulation, one will have to take the mark. They will have to on their forehead and right hand (similar to what is done during ash Wednesday).

The ashes are put on your forehead and right hand, symbolism, grooming, or coincidence; it is your choice to choose which.
