In I Corinthians chapter 6, Paul asked the people if they have the ability of judgement. This judgement differs from the one people often use the word judgment for. This judgement is actually a judgment for their behavior.

The judgement pertaining to the phrase, “Only God can judge me,” is when someone looks down or upon someone. This is when someone frowns upon someone’s because of their behavior, characteristic, or lifestyle they have.

For instance, people pass judgement on someone who has a drinking problem, but he or she holds a public office or position. Drug addicts, sex addicts, and the list goes on of people who feel others judge them because of what they do or have done, and who they are.

The judgment we are talking about in this post, and in this scripture, is for the saints is judgment on matters of the law. Saints usually do not or should not care about how they feel about something or someone. Saints base their judgement on what the law states.

This is what Paul was attempting to solve with members of the church in Corinth. He dared any of them who had matters against each other to attempt to solve their problem themselves. They should use of other saints as it pertains to a matter. This was preferred, rather than for  them to run to the government legal systems.

2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

Paul asks, do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If we, the saints, are going the judge the world, how is it that we cannot judge small matters today?

3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Those saints who are blessed enough to make the first resurrection will sit on thrones and judge the world, including angels (fallen angels). If the saints will execute judgment on and of such a high nature, how much more things that pertain to this life, such as how much money you owe your neighbor?
