The Folly Of Idolatry And The Knowledge Of The Creator

Welcome to BibleStudyMinistry.com, an online Bible Study Supplement Source; today we have wisdom scriptures, titled, The Folly Of Idolatry And The Knowledge Of The Creator.

Here is Wisdom:

Surely all people are foolish by nature if they are ignorant of the Almighty Creato. Despite seeing the good things around them, they fail to recognize the One who created them. Even when they observe the wonders of the world, they don’t acknowledge the Creator behind them. Instead, they believe that fire, wind, the swift air, the stars, the raging waters, or the lights in the sky are the gods that rule the world.

The Beauty of Creation is Enough to Know the Creator

If they were so captivated by the beauty of these things that they mistook for gods, they should realize how much greater the Almighty Creator who created them is. The true source of all beauty is the One who made them. And if they were amazed by the power and strength of these things, they should understand that the One who created them is far more powerful.

Through the greatness and beauty of creation, the Creator can be seen. Still, they are less to be blamed for this, because perhaps they are simply mistaken in their search for their Creator, genuinely desiring to find Him.

By closely observing His works, they search for Him carefully, trusting what they see because the beauty of creation captivates them. However, they still aren’t blameless. If they had the wisdom to understand so much of the world, how did they not discover the Almighty Creator who made it sooner?

Still Miserable

They are truly miserable, placing their hope in lifeless things—calling on gods that are merely the works of human hands. They called on gold and silver shaped to display craftsmanship, images of animals, or a worthless stone carved long ago.

Crafting Images of Their Own Hands

Imagine this; a carpenter cuts down a tree, selecting one that suits his needs. He strips the bark skillfully and crafts it into a useful vessel for daily life. After using the scraps to cook his meal, he fills himself and then, with nothing else to do, takes a crooked, knotted piece of leftover wood, something useless, and carves it with care.

Using his skill, he shapes it into the image of a man or even a lowly beast. He paints it red covering it with vermilion, ensuring every flaw is hidden. Once finished, he sets it in a special place in the wall, securing it with iron. He knows it can’t stand on its own or help itself, because it’s just an image in need of support.

Then, he prays to this lifeless figure, asking for blessings over his possessions, over his wife, and his children, without shame, speaking to something that has no life.

He asks for health from something powerless!

He prays for life to something lifeless and humbly seeks help from what is least capable of offering it. For a safe journey, he pleads to something that cannot even take a single step. And for success in his work and prosperity, he looks to something completely incapable of doing anything at all.

How can this be?
