Good Day. Isaac gives The Dew Of Heaven And The Fatness Of The Earth to both Jacob and Esau.
Here is what we will cover today:
- The sons of Isaac
- The practicality of the seed of Isaac
- The vision shown to Rebeka
- The dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth
The last time we spoke we learned the practicality of the covenants passed from Abram to Isaac. The Almighty was particular, that the covenants would go to Isaac instead of Ishmael. This was even at the pleading request of Abram. Therefore, for all practical purposes, the great covenants of land and offspring and nations with kings, and possessing the gates of their enemies, all fell to Abram’s son Isaac.
Now Isaac is grown and will have children.
His wife, Rebeka, was from the family of Aram. He married her when he was 40 years of age. Twenty years down the road, they have their first pregnancy. Before Rebeka gave birth, she knew she was going to have twins, because she could feel them inside her, fighting each other. She asked the Almighty about it and the response she received was
Genesis 25:23
…and he told her: “Your two sons will become two separate nations. The younger of the two will be stronger, and the older son will be his servant.”
Two sons came, Jacob and Esau; these were Isaac’s sons. There is the story of Esau selling his birthright because they are twins and he came out first. Years later, they are grown men and Isaac is up in age and prepares the will and testament for the son that will carry the family blessings, covenants, and order. Isaac calls Esau.
Rebeka, recalling the message from the Almighty calls Jacob.
Isaac meets with Jacob, but Jacob is pretending to be Esau and this is the blessing Isaac bestows upon Jacob:
Genesis 27:28 Therefore Almighty God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine:
29 Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be master over thy brethren, and let thy mother’s sons bow down to thee: cursed be everyone that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.
Jacob received the message and left the room.
Esau came in next; a shocked Isaac witnessed a crying Esau begging for any type of blessing that he could take from this meeting.
37, And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy master, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants, and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son?
39, And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above; 40, And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.
Both of these brothers received the fatness of the earth and the dew of heaven from above. However, Esau is slated to serve his brother Jacob.
This rubbed Esau in a very hostile way and family could fill it. This led Isaac to send Jacob away to allow time to calm Esau down. Jacob was sent to the fields or lands of Aram, Padan Aram, to find a wife. He was specifically commanded by his father not to marry the daughters of Canaan. Isaac prayed over his son saying, “I pray that God All-Powerful will bless you with many descendants and let you become a great nation. May He bless you with the land He promised Abram so that you will take over this land where we now live as foreigners.”
If you slept through the last paragraph, the covenants and enrichments given to Abram and Isaac were transitioned to Jacob, not Esau.
Further, as Jacob traveled, he fell asleep by a mighty oak tree and had a dream many people are familiar with.
In the dream, the Almighty came to him:
Genesis 28:13, I am the Almighty God of Abram thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou lie, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;
14, And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
15, And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
Once again, the blessings poured upon Abram, and Isaac, are now poured upon Jacob. The gift of land and plenty of offspring, nationhood, and kings to fill the earth. This is a promise from the Almighty Creator.
Jacob also received the constant repetition of the blessings for him and his seed after him.
There is no record of a spiritual seed, but his actual seed.
Genesis 35:9, And the Almighty appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padan Aram and blessed him.
10, And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob
11, And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
12, And the land which I gave Abram and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.
The same practical promises were made to Jacob; fruitfulness, nationhood, multiple nations, kings coming from his loins, and land, the same land given to Abram and Isaac, were given to him, not Esau or to Jacob’s spiritual seed.
Jacob proceeds to have twelve sons from four different wives.
Again, his seed in today’s world is not sought after yet the stories are used for excellent bible stories. The reality and practicality of it all are dismissed. Even as I am going through this, many people reading this have awful feelings and thoughts about it, about me, and this is why the biblical ideology of religion, and especially Christianity is way off.
It is because no one cares about the children of the Almighty who were granted the dew of Heaven and the fatness of the Earth. No one cares!
Pen down!
Power be with you.
