Welcome to Matthew chapter 4 summary where this chapter began as Jesus the Christ was in the wilderness. While there, the Holy Spirit led Him to conduct a forty day fast.

At the very end of the fast, “good” old Satan came to tempt the LORD, as he did with Adam in the very beginning (well actually with Eve), and gave Jesus a series of test.

Jesus turn around and served the devil scripts; that’s right, Jesus quoted scriptures on him at every attempt. This showed the devil and all those listening to the conversation that the only person to serve or the only One to serve is the Father and the Father alone.

Matthew Chapter 4 Summary

When the devil left Jesus, Angel’s came and strengthened Him as He prepared to begin His ministry. Then Jesus began to preach proclaiming to everyone that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

They are to turn back or repent and get the right standing with God and the Heavenly Kingdom. While LORD was preaching the kingdom, one day He walked along the shore and met two brothers.

One was Simon (known as Peter) and the other was Andrew. They were fishermen and Jesus spoke with them and persuaded them to follow Him. As they followed the LORD, the LORD would teach them to fish souls for the kingdom sake.

The LORD did the same thing with the sons of Zebedee, James and John, and they also followed Jesus all over Galilee. The LORD taught in their synagogues preaching about the good news of the coming kingdom of God.

In addition to this He brought aspects of the Kingdom with Him by healing the sick. Jesus healed many of the sick of their diseases and the news of all He was doing and teaching spread throughout all the region.

His fame spread as far north as into Syria and He healed all kinds of people with different and grotesque types of diseases. The LORD helped the lame to walk, it didn’t matter what their disease was he healed them all.

Large crowds followed Jesus as He went from Galilee to different regions and this was just the beginning of his ministry. This is also the summary of Matthew chapter 4, glory to the Holy One of Israel.
