Good day. Today’s title, I Am Come Down To Deliver Them Out Of The Hand Of The Egyptians.
The practical saga continues. The covenants of land, offspring, nationhood, and kings are on the table. The land of Canaan is the land. The offspring are being baked in the land of Egypt so they are fortified enough to take the land. The 12 tribes or sons of Jacob will be the beginning of the nation, and kings will come later. For now, they are in Egypt multiplying, and being fruitful, but trouble is near.
Egypt does a practical thing most nations do, they take a census yearly or every decade. They realize the house of Jacob is multiplying at a rate that will make them the minority in a few decades. Further, if war broke out on the continent, the family of Jacob could band together with the enemies.
Imagine if 50 million Mexicans or 50 million “Black Americans” organized and decided to fight alongside Russia as they invaded America. When you imagine this possibility in practical terms, you may just understand Egypt’s fervent concern.
You do not have to understand their reaction, but their concern is clear.
Their reaction to their concern was to install hardships, oppression, and difficulty to keep up with the multiplying numbers. It did not matter, the more oppression pressed upon the house of Jacob, the more babies popped up.
Time has shown that if you desire to slow a population down in growth, educate them and give them money. The opposite is if you want to speed up a population, depress them, keep them uneducated, and have them live in poverty. Make them beg for a Creator to take them away from their troubles.
The house of Jacob cried for their Maker. He heard them and sent them a savior who was born among them. Yes, He returned, but He operates through men, through a savior of His people.
A man from the tribe of Levi married a woman from the same tribe.
This was during the time of harsh persecution and genocide against male babies born to the children of Jacob. The family was forced to let nature deal with the baby rather than watch an Egyptian officer kill the child.
The Almighty would have it that the child floated right into the house of the very family whose Pharaoh signed the edict to kill all the male babies of Jacob. Thutmose’s daughter found the baby and named him after the family, Moses, and raised him as her own. But Moses’ real family was in his life and taught him about his culture, family, and people. When he was of age and could see the oppression, he did something about it.
However, what he did made him have to flee the country. Imagine, the house of Jacob ready for their deliverance, but “the deliver” was about to be brought up on charges of murder. He fled the country because it wasn’t going to be jail time, but a death sentence. He left and lived in the land of Midian. But he was visited by the Great Creator to return to Egypt and deliver His people.
I Am Come Down To Deliver Them Out Of The Hand Of The Egyptians
The angel of the Almighty appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. Moses turned to see why the bush didn’t burn up. Once the Almighty knew He had Moses’ attention, He proceeded to speak with him about the mission.
The Almighty: Moses, Moses!
Moses: Yes, here am I!
The Almighty: Don’t take another step until you take off those shoes from your feet because where you are standing is Holy Ground. Listen now, I am the Almighty of your father, the Almighty of Abram, of Isaac, and of Jacob.
Moses turned from the fire because he’d heard looking at the Almighty could cause death.
The Almighty: I have come down to deliver the children of Jacob out of the hands of the Egyptians, and bring them out of that land and into a good land, a large land, flowing with milk and honey. To the land of the Canaanites and all the Canaanite nations.
Do you remember the covenants to Abram, Isaac, and Jacob?
In this story, the covenants are being fulfilled. Abram’s seed has multiplied via Isaac, Jacob, and the twelve sons of Jacob. We are not even counting Ishmael’s twelve sons, Esau’s sons, and the sons of Abram via Ketura.

Three months after the Almighty delivered the children of Jacob out of Egypt, they found themselves at Mount Sinai. Moses spoke with the Almighty first and He told Moses something special. The Almighty says, “If the house of Jacob will obey My voice and keep My covenant, they will be a peculiar treasure to Me above all people of the earth. They will become a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.”
This meeting at Mount Sinai was a covenant of the priesthood, and the follow-up of the covenant with their forefathers, Abram, Isaac, and Jacob. The Ten Commandments were the articles of the covenant for the House of Jacob.
Today, every nation believes in a higher power to some degree, however, the reason the scriptures carry a strong weight when it comes to spirituality is because of the Power of the Almighty’s Word
The children of Jacob will eventually take the land of Canaan, as was promised to their forefathers and to them also. They have land, they have multiplied, they have at least 12 nations all in one, and they have possessed the gates of their enemies.
I’m putting the pen down soon, but I should share this. Before Joshua took the lands of Canaan, Moses spoke to the people before this transition. He gave many warnings and many words of encouragement.
Good Promise:
Deuteronomy 28:1, And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Almighty thy Creator, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Almighty thy Creator will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2, And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Almighty thy Creator.
Evil Warning Promise:
15, But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Almighty thy Creator, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: 16, Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
They would receive blessings or enrichments, or they would receive curses, all based on their behavior towards the covenant given to them at Mount Sinai.
Moses even made another agreement with the children of Jacob in the land of Moab. It is voiced in Deuteronomy chapter 29. Listen to this portion of Moses’ farewell words to the House of Jacob:
Deuteronomy 32
Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distill as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: Because I will publish the name of the Almighty: ascribe ye greatness unto our Creator.
He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a Ruler of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
But you (the house of Jacob) lie and cheat
and are unfaithful to him.
You have disgraced yourselves
and are no longer worthy
to be his children.
Do ye thus avenge the Almighty, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy Father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?
Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask your father, and he will shew thee; your elders and they will tell thee.
Think about past generations. Ask your parents or any of your elders. They will tell you that the Almighty Most High gave land to every nation. He assigned a guardian angel to each of them, but the Almighty himself takes care of the House of Jacob.
9, For the Almighty’s portion is His people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.
He set guardians over all the nations found in Genesis chapter 10, but the apple of His eye, He watched over Himself. Let that soak in until next time. Pen down!
