Daily Wisdom Bible Study – The Fear of the Wicked
20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.
Solomon here in Proverbs speaks primarily as in one or the other. We are either just or wicked. We have to make our minds up; choice silver talk or little worth!
21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
Again, there is no middle ground here, the lips of the righteous feed many. Foolish people go through their entire life looking for wisdom, which is always right under their noses (if they took the time to look).
The Fear of the Wicked
22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
In the world we live in, money will make life easier for one, especially if they make the money in silence. This means they are big celebrities and their profession or business does not tell on them. Your profession can give you away, when you tell someone you are a brain surgeon, they can size you up and know you make a certain amount of riches. However, money will always bring a bit of sorrow because people are constantly struggling in the world. However, when you earn money in a good way, there is no sorrow with it. More important, when you get the blessing of real riches, the Word of God, there is no sorrow with it.
23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
It is a game to the fool to act in mischievous ways. Most foolishly ignorant people do mischief for fun! A man of understanding understands this!
24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
The Fear of the Wicked
This is quoted by most of the world’s success coaches, metaphysicians, positive thinking gurus, that the thing the wicked fears comes upon him or her; but the desires of the righteous will be granted. The wicked fear things and people, the righteous fears God only! Therefore, the things and people the wicked fear, those things will happen to them, while the righteous will be granted their “desires.” Faith and fear are two separate emotions, if you fear you will attract your fear, if you have faith, you will attract your belief! Very powerful, I desire the kingdom of God and it will be granted to me (repeat that every day and night in Jesus name)!
25 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
The storms, hurricanes, earthquakes, and tornados pass on like the wicked do; but the righteous is founded forever. This is why it is vital to stay the course!
