Daily Wisdom: Envying Sinners

Envying SinnersBlessings from the God of Israel and also from Bible Study Ministry(dot com), welcome to another day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Below are some verses from Proverbs, we believe are timely thought worthy proverbs, and will be assistance to our walk with Jesus Christ and the Father. Although we are told to get understanding with all things, wisdom is the principle thing. It is wisdom that will prolong our days! God bless you this day!

Daily Wisdom Bible Study – Envying Sinners

1 When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee:

If you’ve been blessed to sit before a ruler or great men, think about what you are doing. This is a ruler and not your friends from back home. It is wise to learn the dos and don’ts or the etiquette you need to maintain while eating with a ruler.

2 And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.

Eating before a ruler is not the time to lick the plate and tell your hosts that they don’t have to wash the dishes tonight. If you’re before a ruler, there is a reason you are there, stick to that reason and take it easy on the eating.

4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.

Avoid the popular concept of working to become rich. That is using the wisdom of man. Instead, work for the joy of what you are doing, for the ability to serve others.

Envying Sinners is Foolish

5 Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.

Working to become rich is setting your eyes on something that is not really there, because as long as riches to rags stories still exist, riches definitely make wings and fly away. More importantly, once a rich man or woman dies, their riches fly to the next person.

7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

This is a popular scripture said often by great philosophers, “as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” This carries a lot of weight because we sometimes think about this towards other people and not ourselves. This is the very reason for Psalm chapter 1 where it says to meditate on God day and night. If your heart (mind) thinks about being Godly, you will be Godly.

If you are not thinking about being like God, you’re thinking of being like something else. That something else is what you are; this is not just for your walk with the LORD, it is also for who you are in your daily life. Who you are in your relationship with others; take heed to the results you are getting in life and it will tell you what you are thinking about!

9 Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.

Fools have a set agenda and it is to be foolish. If you give them wisdom they will despise you for attempting to set them on a better path. Listen to the fool, give little input in assisting them, unless they changing their foolish ways, which you will behold in their actions.

12 Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.

Make up your mind to become receptive to receiving instruction and your ears ready to take up knowledge. Although I’m a teacher, I am always ready to learn and I do learn much from many of my interactions.

The Foolishness of Envying Sinners – Daily Wisdom

13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.

A child must be corrected, because children come into the world with the idea of doing things their way or the way they know best. As parents and adults, we have to correct them, however we have to correct them with love and sincerity and not with evil intent. Do not go crazy because the scripture said “beat him with the rod.” The rod is the rod of correction, not a real physical metal rod.

17 Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the Lord all the day long.

If you’re a normal person, at times you will view the lifestyle of the sinner and maybe become a bit envious of them. Take your “blood of Jesus” towel and wipe that thought from your mind, that of being envious of the sinner. Remain in the fear of the Lord all day long knowing when you receive your crown, you will live a million times better than the sinner, and you’ll live that way forever. Praise the Lord.
