Chapter Summary: Genesis Chapter 45 Summary

Welcome to the Joseph story here in Genesis chapter 45 summary. This continues from the previous chapter when Judah poured his soul to Joseph. It was at this point Joseph could not refrain himself any longer and he began to cry.

He came clean before his brothers, confessing to them that he was their younger brother Joseph. They could not believe that he was their younger brother Joseph. Joseph told them that God sent him before them to preserve life in Egypt.

The viceroy of Egypt also told them they should not feel bad about the way things turned out in life. Joseph revealed to them the famine that was taking place; it would take place for another five years.

Genesis Chapter 45 Summary

Joseph then granted them to live with him in Egypt and that he would take care of them. They were told to bring his father, Jacob, to come to dwell with them in Egypt. Joseph’s brothers returned home and told their father that Joseph is still alive and is the governor of Egypt.

Jacob almost fell out upon hearing this. He could not believe it, nevertheless, he packed his bags to go see his son. This is the summary of Genesis chapter 45.
