What Does the Bible Say About Satan

What Does the Bible Say About Satan?

The Bible has a lot to say about Satan, primarily warnings of not being deceived by him or any of his fallen angel pals. In the beginning in the Garden of Eden, there were only four beings present. That scene starred Jesus the Christ as the Tree of Life.

There was also Satan the Devil, as the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil, and Adam and Eve (Genesis 2). The great deception stated man would become as God. This would lead them to know the difference of good and evil. Since then, it has been an all-out war for us to look for more fraud and to avoid it.

The best place to learn all about him is in Revelation. In chapter twelve verses nine, we are able to learn all of Satan’s titles and names and we learn what his big controversy is and what happened to him.

Controversy in the Garden of Eden

It says, “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”

He is known as a great dragon, an old serpent, the Devil, and his controversy is that he deceives the entire world.  It started in the Garden of Eden, but continues on today.

Satan was thrown out of Heaven. Sin was found in him, and he was cast to the earth along with his following angels.

This is a problem for us on the earth because it is full of deception and the only thing we can comfortably stand on is the Word of God.

The Bible tells us that whoever makes it a habit to sin is from the devil. The devil has been sinning since the beginning (1 John 3 v8).

Peter tells us to be sober and watch out for Satan (deception) because Satan walks around looking for people to destroy (1 Peter 5 v8).

Jesus told the Pharisees they were of their father the devil because the Pharisees sought Jesus’ life based on lies (St. John 8 v44).  Here Jesus said Satan is the father of lies and was a murderer from the very beginning.  Satan is all of this because there is no truth in him.

Deceivers are Smooth Operators…

Knowing all of this, when we get the truth of the Word of God, we have to guard it and harness it so it buds and blossoms the more in us; because Satan will come and attempt to snatch it away (Matthew 13 v19).

Satan is a deceiver.  Deceivers are smooth operators, they come like they are good but they are full of evil.  Paul tells us not to be amazed at this because Satan has disguised himself still as an angel of truth (2nd Corinthians 11 v14).

This is why even when we attend church we must not just listen to what the pastor is preaching; we must see that he is reading as well.  Even with this website examine it to be sure it is of truth. After Satan’s time of deception is over, Jesus will bind him up for 1,000 years, which is the Lord’s Day, the Lord’s Sabbath day (Revelation 20 v2-3).

Satan Has Nothing on Jesus the Christ

The Bible is simply telling us that Satan is a liar.  He has put forth many lies that have deceived the whole world.  Satan wants nothing more than for man to end up where he will end up. That is in the lake of fire being tormented forever.

This is why Satan is working overtime to get as many people deceived as he possibly can because he knows he has a short time to do this (Revelations 12 v12).  The only thing we have is the testimony of Jesus Christ because Satan has nothing on Jesus (St. John 14 v30).

Jesus overcame him and so can we through Jesus Christ. God bless you today in the name of Jesus.  Amen.
