Matthew 7 Reframe: One With Authority

(listen to this article)

Jesus continued His teaching on the mount as He talked about judging others. Do not judge so that you aren’t judged. Whatever judgment you judge, you will also be judged; whatever you measure others, you will also be measured.

Why look at the mote in your brother’s eye and not consider the beam in your own eye? How will you say to your brother, “Let me get the mote out of your eye,” and ignore the beam in your own eye?

If you do this, you are a hypocrite! You should first get the beam out of your own eye and then you will see clearly. This clarity will allow you to better get the mote out of your brother’s eye (or sisters’).

Matthew 7 – One With Authority

Do not give things that are holy or wholesome to the dogs, nor should you throw your pearls to the pigs. If you do, at some point the dogs and pigs will crush those holy things under their feet.

Worse than that, the dogs and pigs will turn again and tear you apart. Asking is important, so is seeking, and knocking. Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you.

Everyone that asks will receive, and those who seek will find, and those who knock will have it opened to them. What man is there who when asked by his son he would give him a stone?

This is the Law and the Prophets

Better yet, if his son asked for some fish, would the father give him a serpent? Now if you all being as evil as you can be know how to give good gifts and things to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give?

Your Father in heaven will give good things to those who ask of Him. Thus, in all the things you’d have people do to you, be willing to do those things to and for them. This is the law and the prophets; this is what they were all about.

When you enter, enter in at the  strait gate. The gates that lead to destruction are wide and broad and their are many who go in such. Nevertheless, strait and narrow is the gate and way that leads to life.

Know People By Their Fruits

Unfortunately, there are very few who find such gate. In life, you must become aware of false prophets who come in sheep’s clothing to you. Inwardly, they are ravening wolves, but outwardly they appear to be prophets and minister of God.

Beware; you will know them by their fruits. Men do not gather grapes of thorns or figs of thistles; likewise you will know them by their fruits. Every good tree brings forward good fruit, but a corrupt tree will bring forward evil fruit.

A good tree cannot have evil fruit nor can a corrupt tree have good fruit. Here is the thing; every tree that doesn’t bring or deliver good fruit is cut down and thrown in the fire. This way, you will know them by their fruits.

I NEVER KNEW YOU…

Everyone is not who they say they are. By this it is meant to understand that not everyone that says LORD, LORD, will enter into the kingdom of Heaven. Rather, those who do the will of my Father in Heaven, such will enter therein.

In that, many will say to Me, LORD, LORD, haven’t we prophesied in your name? Haven’t we cast out devils in your name and in your name performed many wonderful works, huh LORD?

That is when I will profess to them, I never knew you; get away from me, you who work iniquity. So whoever hears these teachings of Mine and does them, I will compare such to a wise man who has built his house on a rock.

Taught As One Who Has Authority

The rain came down and the floods also, the winds blew upon it and beat the house, yet it did not fall. It withstood because it was founded upon a Rock. Everyone that hears these teachings of Mine and does not do them will be likened to a foolish man.

The foolish man built his house upon the sand. When the rains, floods, and winds came upon his house, down it went. And when it fell, it fell with a great fall; one that is hard to get back up from.

It came to pass as Jesus ended His teachings that the people were astonished at His doctrine. They were perplexed that He taught like somone who had authority, and not like the scribes had been teaching.
