The LORD saw the multitudes and went up into a mountain to set Himself apart. When He was apart, His disciples came to Him and He began to teach them. He said blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.

Blessed are those that mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Again, blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful because they will obtain mercy.

Grace upon those who are pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed also are the peacemakers of the world, for they will be called the children of God. blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake because theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.

He Began to Teach Them

Also, blessed are you when men will revile and criticize you, persecuting you and saying all kinds of evil things against you falsely, for the LORD’s sake. Rejoice in this and be very glad because great is your reward in Heaven.

Remember, they also persecuted the prophets who came before you. You are the salt of the earth. Nonetheless, if the salt has lost it’s flavor, why do we still need the salt? The salt would have become good for nothing except to cast it out and let me walk over it under their feet.

You are the light of the world and a city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Men do not light a candle only to put it under a heap or pile. They light a candle to be placed on a candlestick for it to give light to all that are in the house.

Therefore, let your light shine before men so they may see your good works and glorify your Father, which is in Heaven. Concerning laws, ordinances, statutes, and judgments; do not think that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets.

Least in the Kingdom of Heaven

On the contrary, I am not come to destroy them, but instead to fulfill them. Undoubtedly, I say unto you, until heaven and earth pass, not one jot or iota, or one tittle or speck will pass from the law until all is fulfilled.

With that said, whoever will break one of the least commandments and teaches others to do so, such a man (or woman) will be labeled the least in the kingdom of Heaven.

On the opposite side of that, whoever will do the commandments and teach others to do the same will be labeled great in the kingdom of Heaven. For I say to you except your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will under no circumstance enter into the kingdom of Heaven.

Now, you have heard that it was said of them back in the old days that you should not kill. And whoever killed would be in danger of the judgment, remember that?

Make Amends And Then Bring Your Gift

BUT I SAY UNTO you, that whoever is angry with his fellow man without a cause will be in danger of the judgment. Whoever says to his brother, Raca (worthless, foolish, empty), will be in danger of the council.

And whoever says to his fellow man, “You fool,” will be in danger of hell fire. So, if you bring a gift to the altar, and you remember that your brother has an issue against you, this is what you do.

You leave your gift before the altar and go first to be reconciled with your brother; then you come back and offer your gift. Another thing to note is that you should agree with your enemies and foes quickly, while you are with them.

Unless at any time they decide to deliver you to the judge, and the judge delivers you to the officer, and the officer throws you in prison. I say to you beyond doubt, you will by no means come out of prison until you have paid the greatest monetary amount.

Get Rid of Things Offending You

Again, you have heard it said in the past that you should not commit adultery. However, I tell you that whoever looked or looks on a woman and lust after her, has already committed adultery with her in their mind.

So, if your right eye is offending you, you may have to get rid of that eye. It is better and more profitable for you that one of your body parts should perish and not the entire body to be thrown in hell.

Likewise, if your right hand is offending, you may have to cut it off, because it is better for one member to perish than the whole body, in hell. It is well known that whoever puts away his wife, all he has to do is give her a writing of divorcement and all is clean and well.

Nonetheless, I say to you that whoever puts his wife away except in the case of fornication, causes her to commit adultery. Also, whoever marries a woman put away or divorced also committed adultery.

the City of the Great King

So, you have heard it said of old time that you should not vow or forswear, but you should perform all your oaths to the LORD. Nevertheless, I tell you, you should not swear at all; by Heaven or earth. The earth is the LORD’s footstool, and Heaven is God’s Throne.

Do not even swear by Jerusalem because it is the city of the great King. You should not swear by your own head because you don’t have the power to make one hair white or one black.

The best communication is to let your yes be yes, and your no be no; anything more than these will become evil. You’ve heard in the past it said an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Toss that out too; I say to you that you do not resist evil.

So whoever strikes you on your right cheek, let them have your other cheek also. If any man comes to sue you in the court of law, taking away your coat, give him your robe and scarf too. Whoever will force you to go with them a mile, go two miles with them.

Love and Bless Your Enemies

Give to those who ask and don’t hide from those who come to borrow from you. You’ve heard that it has been said that you should love your neighbor and hate your enemy.

Rip that ideology from your mind also; because I say to you to love your enemies and bless them that curse you. Do good to those that hate you and pray for those who despitefully use and persecute you.

I know it’s weird and the opposite of what you’re used to, but you have to align yourself differently. This way you may be the children of your Father, who is in Heaven.

Does He not make His sun to rise on the evil and on the good in the earth; and sends rain to the just and unjust? If you only love those who love you, what reward do you really deserve?

Be Perfect

Don’t the publicans do the same even? If you only greet your brothers and sisters only, what do you do that exceeds anyone else? The publicans even do that! The key here is to become perfect as your Father who is in Heaven is perfect.

This is your ultimate goal and quest to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
