They of Christ’s at His Coming
In the fifteenth chapter of first Corinthians, Paul describes something so compelling to our understanding of the world and the Word of God, we ought to be ashamed not to know it.
Welcome to BibleStudyMinistry.com (BSM), your online bible study supplement source. Today we’re still exploring death and the disposition of those who have passed on from this world!
In first Corinthians chapter fifteen, Paul writes that Jesus the Holy Messiah was risen from the dead, and with His resurrection, Jesus became the firstfruits of ALL who died or slept.
What does this make of Adam and all the forefathers who died or slept before Jesus the Holy Messiah?
It only makes out that they are still asleep or resting in peace (as we say at funerals), at least until Jesus came in the flesh, and died and resurrected. Paul continues by saying, since by man death came into the picture, also by man came the resurrection of the dead.
In Adam, we all die or will die. Well, likewise, in Jesus the Holy Messiah, we will all be made alive and live, eternally.
Now this is the vital point Paul asserts; that everything and every man, things will happen in God’s order. First, Jesus the Holy Messiah being the first, the firstfruits, and then afterwards, all that Jesus Christ has that are His will be redeemed from death.
When? At His coming, which is not yet, but coming upon us. This leaves the dead or those who have slept, in the ground. See the actual scriptures below (KJV):
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
