When I read this story of young David, I feel like a chicken in a barn sometimes when I think about my lack of faith in my God, we all have sometimes.

David just volunteered to fight against a huge warrior name Goliath. David is so eager to go about it, that he is telling Saul (current king of Israel at that time) how he killed a lion and a bear before.
This Uncircumcised Philistine?
David figured, if he could kill a lion and bear with the strength of God, a Philistine should not be a problem.
36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.
Likewise, if you focus on the Power of God, and not the very nature of the conflict confronting you, you also will feel as David felt about Goliah about any problem or person in your life.
This Uncircumcised Philistine?
If God has delivered you out of a problem in your life before, He will do it again and again. Saul is listening to young David and is perhaps admiring his courage, but is thinking, ‘poor boy going to get eaten alive’.
37 David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee.
Saul okays young David to fight and says to David, “Go, and the Lord be with thee.” If he meant it or not matters not, but that is what he said to young David.
The Lord was with David indeed. It was a turning point in the history of Israel, and our lives can have turning points just like this one if we only believe, develop the courage, and face our enemies knowing the God of Israel is our support.
