Daily Wisdom Bible Study – There is That Maketh Himself Rich

5 A righteous man hates lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and comes to shame.

A decent and upright man hates lying, he detest people who lie, and is against all liars. On the other hand, the wicked man is hateful. Unfortunately for him, all that he does will eventually come to shame!

6 Righteousness keeps him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthrows the sinner.

A virtuous person’s uprightness keeps him from harm and troubles. He is always trying to do the righ thing. Sure challenges appear in everyone’s life, but the righteous are able to get through them. Sinners, because of their wickedness are overthrown and are not.

There is That Maketh Himself Rich

7 There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.

This is one of my personal favorites because we see it so much in todays’ society. We will see a rich man who makes himself appear like a common man. He has loads of money and loads of wisdom. Yet he (or she) does not flaunt it or boast of their knowledge and wisdom.

On the flip side of this is the poor man who has nothing. He is struggling to rub to American nickles together. But he makes himself (or herself) appear as if they are uber rich; like they are Jeff Bezos or Aliko Dangote, mixed with Patrice Motesepe.

This is weird but happens very frequently.

9 The light of the righteous rejoices: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

If one is wicked, foolish, or lazy, reading proverbs has to be a sore punishing task. The righteous rejoice, but the wicked’s light will be put out. Nite, nite, like Steph Curry.
