Here is Wisdom:
Wisdom made the people’s efforts successful through the hands of the holy prophet. The people journeyed through uninhabited wilderness, setting up tents in places where there were no paths. They faced their enemies and took vengeance on those who opposed them.
When they were thirsty, they called out to You, and water flowed for them from the flinty rock, quenching their thirst from the hard stone. The very things that had punished their enemies became an enrichment to them in their time of need.
While their enemies suffered from rivers tainted with foul blood (a clear judgment for the commandment that led to the slaughter of infants), You gave Your people abundant water from an unexpected source.
This showed through their thirst how You had punished their adversaries.
When they were tested, though only corrected in mercy, they came to understand how the ungodly were judged. They are judged in anger and tormented, suffering a thirst far different from the righteous. For You disciplined and tested Your people like a father would his child. But the others were tested, like a harsh king, You condemned and punished. Whether near or far, they were troubled just the same.
They suffered a double grief, weighed down by painful memories of the past. When they realized that their punishment had become a benefit for others, they began to sense the presence of the Almighty. The one they had once scorned and dismissed, during the time when the infants were cast out, was the same one they now admired in the end. They admired them when they saw everything unfold.
Because of their foolish and wicked schemes, they were deceived into worshipping mindless serpents and vile creatures. In return, You sent a swarm of wild, unreasonable beasts upon them as vengeance. This way they would understand that the very thing they sinned with would be the source of their punishment.
Everything is in Order
For Your Almighty hand, which shaped the world from formless matter, had no shortage of ways to send a swarm of bears or fierce lions among them. Or even unknown wild creatures, full of fury, newly created, breathing out fiery vapor, or foul-smelling smoke, or shooting terrifying sparks from their eyes. The mere sight of these beasts could not only harm them but completely overwhelm and destroy them in fear alone.
Yes, even without these creatures, they could have been struck down by a single breath. They could been scattered by the force of Your vengeance and the power of Your might. But You have set everything in order with precision—measured, numbered, and weighed.
You can display Your great strength whenever You choose, and who could stand against the power of Your arm? The entire world before You is like a tiny grain on a scale, or like a drop of morning dew that falls upon the earth.
But You show mercy to everyone, because You have the power to do all things.
You overlook people’s sins, giving them a chance to change. You love everything You’ve created and despise nothing, for You would never have made anything if You hated it.
How could anything have lasted if it wasn’t Your will? Or been preserved without Your calling? But You show mercy to all, because they are Yours, O Great Creator, the lover of souls.
