Here is Wisdom:
Listen closely, you kings of the nations, and understand; pay attention, all of you who judge the far reaches of the earth. Listen up, you who rule over the people and take pride in leading many nations. Because your power comes from the Almighty, and your authority comes from the Most High. He will examine your actions and uncover your intentions to the world.
As ministers of His kingdoms, you have not judged fairly, nor upheld the law, nor followed the guidance of the Almighty. He will come upon you swiftly and terribly, for those in high places and positions will face severe judgment.
Mercy will quickly forgive the humble, but the powerful will be severely punished. The Almighty, who rules over all, isn’t impressed by anyone’s status and isn’t intimidated by anyone’s power. He created both the small and the great, and He cares for everyone equally.
But a harsh trial is coming for the mighty.
So I speak to you, kings, so you may learn wisdom and not lose your way. Those who uphold holiness with integrity will be judged as holy, and those who have embraced this wisdom will know how to respond.
So, set your heart on my words; seek them out, and you will be guided. Wisdom is glorious and never fades away. She is easily recognized by those who love her and found by those who seek her. She even goes ahead of those who desire her, revealing herself to them first.
Anyone who seeks her early won’t have to struggle much; they’ll find her waiting right at their doorstep. Just thinking about her is the essence of wisdom, and those who stay vigilant for her will soon find themselves free of worries.
She actively searches for those who are worthy of her, revealing herself to them in their daily paths and meeting them in their every thought. The true beginning of wisdom is a desire for discipline, and caring about discipline is love. Love means keeping her laws, and following her laws leads to incorruption. This incorruption brings us closer to the Almighty.
So, the desire for wisdom leads to a righteous kingdom.
If you take pleasure in thrones and scepters, O kings of the people, then honor wisdom, so you may reign forever. As for wisdom—what she is and where she comes from—I will tell you. I won’t keep her mysteries hidden from you. Instead, I will seek her out from the very beginning and bring her knowledge into the light, leaving nothing but the truth uncovered.
I won’t be consumed by envy, because a person like that can never connect with wisdom. But a multitude of wise people is the strength of the world, and a wise king is the foundation of his people’s well-being.
So take my words to heart and learn from them—it will do you good.
