God commanded Moses to command the children of Israel to always offer a peace offering to God. they had to do this whenever they killed an ox, lamb, or goat in or out of the camp. If they don’t bring a portion to the priest to offer before God, blood was imputed on such a man.

They were no longer to offer their sacrifices to devils as if they hadn’t received this memo since their deliverance from Egypt. They typically would go lusting and whoring after these devils because other nations were.

Leviticus Chapter 17 Summary

Neither the children of Israel or the stranger dwelling with them could offer burnt offerings or sacrifices on their own. They had to bring their sacrifices to the door of the tabernacle and offer it before God.

The chapter transitioned to another order. It concerned the consumption of blood. If this was practiced, God would set His Face against such man and cut him off from among his people.

Why?
