What Does the Bible say About Salvation

His hands pierced for our salvation

This is a popular topic when it comes to the Bible and Christianity, because this is what the Bible is all about.  It is about salvation through Jesus Christ.  Even if you know next to nothing about Christianity you’ve probably heard the word salvation.  So, what does the bible say about salvation?  Before we get deep, let us get the definition of salvation.  Our good friends over at dictionary.com say that salvation is “the act of saving or protecting from harm, risk, loss, destruction, etc.”

So who is in the act of saving or protecting from harm, risk, loss, and destruction?  It is no

ne other than Jesus Christ and scriptures such as Acts 4 v12 support this.  You see, Adam got away from God in the garden and sinned.  And God so loved the world that He gave His only Son to “salvage” this man (humanity), which was doomed to eternal destruction created for Satan and his evil spirits.  Satan is a liar and the Father of it (St. John 8 v44).  He is the reason we check our receipts, we verify what people say to us, and we get a second and third opinion before we act on things.

Satan is a destroyer and he attempted to destroy God’s wonderful creation.  However, we have an advocate, a comforter, and salvation through Jesus the Christ.  There is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all to be testified in due time (1 Timothy 2 v5-6).  Jesus tells us He is the way, the truth, and the life and no one can come to the Father except they go through Jesus Christ (St. John 14 v6).  This is a spiritual and literal meaning to it.  Man has to survive the Kingdom of Jesus Christ for 1,000 years before they will even have access to the Father’s Kingdom.

Again, Jesus says He is the door.  If ANYONE enters by Him that person will be saved or salvaged (St. John 10 v9).  It is plainly all over the pages of the Holy Bible that salvation is through Jesus the Christ.  There may be a scripture that may threaten people who do not understand clearly the Bible and that scripture is Saint John chapter four and verses twenty-two.  Jesus was speaking to a woman who was a Samarian and He had to tell her she pretty much inherited a bunch of lies.  Jesus said this because she worshipped something and did not know what she worshipped.

At times we all hold fast to ridiculous traditions and we believe we are worshipping God.  However, Jesus goes on to say that He and His disciples know what they worship because salvation is of the Jews.  Does this mean only the Jews get salvation?  Of course not, it simply meant that Jesus came and taught the Jews everything for man to obtain salvation and it is for the Jews to go and teach the rest of the world.  To recap, salvation is the act of recovering or saving that which was destroyed or to be destroyed.  Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation.  You’re going to need Him in the end.  This is what the Bible says about salvation.

God bless you speedily in the name of Jesus.  Amen
