 Leviticus Chapter 9 Summary

Leviticus Chapter 9

Leviticus chapter 9 summary continued the consecration ceremony of Aaron and his sons (from the previous chapter).

They (Aaron and his sons) were shut in the tabernacle for seven days, and on the eighth day, Moses called Aaron and his sons out. In addition, the elders of Israel were also called together.

They took a young calf for a sin offering, a ram for a burnt offering and offered before God. God was preparing to appear before the children of Israel this day.

First Aaron made an atonement for himself, then he made an atonement for the people with a goat. Finally, Aaron blessed the people, then he and Moses came down and blessed the people.

As they did, the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people. A fire came out from before God and consumed the altar where the burnt offering and fat were.

When everyone saw this, they shouted and fell on their faces in fear and praise.
