Joshua Chapter 23 Summary: Chapter Summaries

Dare we venture into Joshua chapter 23 summary. This chapter began with Joshua he was waxed old and stricken in years, yet God had given Israel rest from all their enemies.

Joshua called the elders to him to remind them of what the LORD their God had done for them. He also reminded them of the land they had yet to claim. Joshua told them that God would certainly complete what He promised them.

Nevertheless, they must be very courageous and keep and do all that was written in the book of the law of Moses. The LORD had removed great nations for them and made them strong.

Joshua Chapter 23 Summary

They were powerful; one of them could chase away a thousand because God fought for them. The ONLY caveat is that Israel was required to love their God and obey His voice.

If Israel disobeyed and made leagues and marriages with the people of the land, the LORD would stop fighting for them. The people would become snares and traps to Israel until Israel perished off the good land.

Joshua made a point that not one good thing has failed from the LORD’s mouth concerning the children of Israel. Not One! If the good things have come upon Israel, the evil things will come upon them also, if they transgress the LORD.

This was basically Joshua’s farewell speech, and this is the summary of Joshua chapter 23. Glory and praise to the Holy One of Israel.
