Lest Haply Ye Be Found Even to Fight Against God

Lest Haply Ye Be Found Even to Fight Against GodThe reality is that we all fight against God to some degree. We do this by attempting to do our will and not God’s will on many occasions. The real fight against God is in keeping falsehoods or traditions that profit not, while condemning what is written.

The truth has a way to pinch us especially when we just figured things out. You’ve finally got a good grip on things, then the truth shows up. It doesn’t have to only pertain to the Word of God (can I get an Amen).

We could have believed we can sing, and finally realized we cannot! We could have believed we could cook, but the truth shows up and we learn that we were cooking, but not with skill.

The same fortunately (or unfortunately) pertains to the Word of God.

We may have believed we had a good understanding, only to see our understanding was skewed by those who gave it to us. And we cannot get mad at the faucet for delivering bad water.

Lest Haply Ye Be Found Even to Fight Against God

We have to go to the well and from the well, the keeper of the well. With that I mean … well I hope it is understood what I mean. In Acts chapter 5, the apostles were about to get it…

Then a wise Pharisee spoke some very wise words to his companions that even we should adhere to today.

Acts 5

38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:

39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

A man named Gamaliel spoke this. He was a PhD in the law of God and had a good reputation. In simple words, Gamaliel said if people are teaching something let them teach. If it is of God, it will blossom irregardless of naysayers or hindrance makers.

If it is from man, it will wither away without help.

However, if it is from God, know you cannot overthrow it, lest haply ye be found even to fight against God. Can you imagine that? Plenty people do that everyday, but they won’t prevail. They may win a few battles, but they won’t win the war.
