Not Ashamed to Call Them Brethren

Happy High Sabbath to you from the Most High and His Anointed One, if ye are reading this on the actual day of the Memorial of the Blowing of Trumpets.

Grace and peace to you in Jesus name. Today, briefly, I want to call attention to this scripture found in Hebrews, where the writer writes that Jesus Christ is not ashamed to call them brethren, those who are sanctified.

You see Jesus came in the flesh, not as an angel, but as a full member of the family man. Jesus did this to partake in the suffering of death. By deduction, we should learn that angels can’t take part in a physical death of sleep.

In this process, Jesus tasted death for all mankind (Hebrews 2:9).

Not Ashamed to Call Them Brethren

It should be known that Jesus did this to bring many sons and daughters to glory, that is to eternal life through Him. Jesus, being the captain of our salvation, joined the family of man to make our salvation perfect through His sufferings. This brings us to Hebrews chapter 2 and verse 11.

Hebrews 2

11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

It reads, both Jesus, who was set apart in the world by the Father, and all of His followers, who are set apart through Him, are all one. We are all one body, with Jesus Christ being the Head. Because of this, brothers and sisters, Jesus is not ashamed, He is not ashamed to call them brethren.

Jesus is not ashamed to call us brothers and sisters!

This is to say, Jesus died and rose from the dead, in rising into glory Jesus departed the family of man and returned back to the family of God. He took on physical changes. If then Jesus is the captain, and we are fellow heirs and brethren in which He is not ashamed of; what will we be in the regeneration?

We will join the God family.

When Jesus came to the earth, He declared the Father’s name to His brethren right in the midst of the church (Hebrews 2:12). The Memorial of the Blowing of Trumpets sounds the preparation of the return of the Mighty God, to finish His declaration.

Praise God in Jesus name.
