The 3 Foundations of Christianity and the 2 Major Ingredients

Welcome or welcome back to BibleStudyMinistry.com – an online Bible study for Christians interested in learning more about the Great Creator within the pages of the Bible.

This week’s Sabbath Bible study is titled The 3 Foundations of Christianity and the 2 Major Ingredients. If you are waiting for part two of the Story of the Bible, be sure to sign up for our newsletter and you will receive it before the weekend is over.

Today, I’m going to briefly talk about the three major foundations for Christianity, along with the two major ingredients for salvation.

If you listen to children or had the opportunity to attend college or university, they will always tell you when it comes to their faith that it was something their parents did. Because their parents were Christians who went to church, they became Christians who go or have gone to church.

However, many times there is no substance to it, as in why really are they Christians. The wrong philosopher or the wrong atheist, or the right Bible teacher can destroy nearly everything the child/young adult or adult has come to learn in their entire life regarding being a Christian. This is why the first crucial foundation for a Christian to learn or develop is that of knowledge.

The Bible states that the fear of the Great Creator (God in the KJV) is the beginning of knowledge. Some people have been taught not to fear God! What a mistake and misunderstanding of the concept.

All of the prophets, apostles, and men of God when being selected to do a major task for the Lord were selected based on how much they feared God. The Bible talks in the book of Nehemiah how when selecting men of God to be over the task of rebuilding Jerusalem they selected men who trembled at God.

All over the Bible men and women of God who had knowledge of God understood the fear of God. The knowledge of God Almighty produces a reverent fear of His power. With His power, He rules by righteousness, so in reality we fear doing the wrong things with clear intention we are doing wrong.

The 3 Foundations of Christianity and the 2 Major Ingredients

Throughout the Bible there are many scriptures that you simply need knowledge in order to know what you are reading. This is why so many people have trouble understanding and therefore believing the Bible.

The second foundation is wisdom. Once we have learned about the God of Jacob, we now have to learn about life and how to make great decisions. This takes wisdom. The God of Jacob used wisdom to build the earth.

Wisdom leads you into the right paths. The Bible states that a man is happy that finds wisdom and that it comes with great benefits such as, peace, riches, long life, pleasantness, and honor.  Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore it is vital to attain and is one of the three foundations of Christianity.

We need to be wise in how we share the Word of God with people also.

The last foundation is understanding. This is what children really want. When they ask a million questions, parents or adults normally give an answer and the child will then ask, “Why is that.”

Understanding is the passport to a full life. When we understand how things operate, it settles us even if we do not like it. If wisdom is the principal thing, the Bible still urges us, in all of the things we get in life, get understanding. These three pieces are the foundation of life and Christianity.

These three pieces mean absolutely nothing without the two ingredients to salvation.

The two ingredients to salvation are faith and works. To tell it in more detail (faith is only belief), faith in the Son of God. We must hold onto the testimony of the Son of God in order to have a chance at salvation.

The works in more detail is the keeping of the Almighty’s Covenant, which are His commandments, beginning with the Ten Commandments. This is why Solomon said the whole duty of man is the fear God (get knowledge of God) and keep His commandments (Eccl 12:13). The fear of the Almighty is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

In the book of Job, he searched the entire earth for where to find wisdom and understanding because it was not found among the living.

Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Almighty, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

The fear of the Almighty is wisdom and to depart from evil is to finally have understanding. This is simply beautiful and amazing all together. This is why it is written in the Psalm that a good understanding have all they who keep the commandments of God (Psalm 111:10).

Why do they have a good understanding? The commandments are a light that guide you from evil. Job taught us that to depart from evil is understanding. Therefore, in the name of the Almighty’s beloved Son, I bid you to keep the three foundations of life, and desperately and knowledgeably hold onto the two ingredients of salvation.

Wisdom, knowledge, and understanding are your foundations, and the testimony of the Anointed Son of God (the Christ) and the keeping of His commandments are the ingredients to salvation.

Praise the Almighty in the name of His Son and may the Great Creator uplift you with knowledge wisdom and understanding.
