The Lord Gave and Takes Away

The prophet Job had his life stripped from him. After all that occurred, he arose and tore his clothing and shaved his head. He fell to the ground in sadness and shock, but still worshipped and honored the Lord. He then said, “I came naked out of my mother’s womb, and I will return naked.” “The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away.”

It isn’t an easy thing to deal with calamities in ones life. This was one of those for Job. He ended saying, “Blessed be the name of the Lord.” It is documented that in all of this, Job did not sin, neither charged God foolishly.
